Around Dresden

I don't know if we saw everything important or not...did we see anything? You decide.
This alley way between old and new serves host for a variety or restaurants. All with outside seating. Everywhere we went they had special screens showing the soccer matches.

The wall that tells a story...unfortunately, I didn't take the tour that was being lead, but it was also a German-spoken tour. So that wouldn't have helped undertstand what was on the wall.

The large church. Bells rang like crazy before 6pm, and then did a normal chime at 6pm. Don't know why...

Don't let it be said...

...that we didn't work while we were here. Gilad is in his typical blackberry mode.

The Bed AKA "The Brick"

This bed is so hard that you think it's just a brick with some sort of sheet over it. As you can see, they don't give you a top sheet or a blanket. All that comes with the bed is this comforter and bottom sheet...and oh ya, the pillows. Which actually aren't that bad!

Bathroom in Dresden

Probably should have rotated this before posting...ah well. I'm staying at a brand new hotel right next to the convention center here in Dresden. I guess you could say just about everything is new around Dresden, since the US practically destroyed the city in WW2. A lot of rebuilding prior to the iron curtain had already begun, but you can definitely see a design change in this building since the reunification has happened.

The bathrooms are very nice. I find it odd that this one glass panel just rotates 90 degrees, and I feared water would get all over the floor when I showered. But this was all that was needed, and water didn't escape. Pretty simple design.

This part of the bathroom reminds me of the "love toilet" spot on Saturday Night Live. Obviously, it isn't two toilets, but I know my wife would kill for this. Kill I say!
